From Saxon, head north on Highway 122 for about 4 miles. Cross over the Michigan border and turn left after ½ mile onto the second gravel road (look for sign). Take trail down from parking lot. Head up along the river away from Lake Superior. Pass the dam building. Continue around corner of canyon. Watch your step. Watch for falling rocks.

From Saxon, head west on Highway 2 for 5 miles. Turn left (south) onto Highway 169. Continue for about 3 miles, passing through Gurney. Turn right (west) onto Falls Road (Potato River Falls Road).

When it has water this is a very impressive waterfall. Unfortunately it is hard to get a good view of the falls. If you are looking for some adventure it might be a fun stop, but there are many other nearby waterfalls that are more scenic and easier to get to.

From Saxon, head east on Highway 2. Turn left (north) onto County Road B. Follow for 2 miles, but when B turns 90 degrees to the left, keep going straight onto Saxon Falls Road.

From the intersection of Highways 51 & 2 in Hurley, head north on Highway 2 for a ½ mile. Turn right (east) onto Center Drive when you see the sign for Ero Nasi Contruction. Continue for a ¼ mile, park in a small turnaround, and hike ¼ mile to the falls.

"This is presumably the 10th highest waterfall in Wisconsin, but it did not appear as tall as it is claimed to be. It is in a remote location off of a forest road but no hike is required, and it is relatively easy to find."

From Upson, head north on Highway 122 for 5 miles. Turn left (west) onto Sullivan Road. Continue for about 3 miles to the Potato River.

"This small waterfall southwest of Hurley Wisconsin in the town of Gile is on the West Branch of the Montreal River. There are two main drops here with a sharp curve between them. The total drop is listed at 15 feet."

From Highway 77, turn south onto Kokogan Street, then turn right onto Mellen Street (Gile Falls Street). An overlook is nearby as is a snowmobile bridge which crosses the falls (accessible only by foot).

From Hurley, head west on Highway 2 for 3 miles. Turn left (south) onto N Park Road. Immediately look for Town Park Road, which will be on your right. Turn right (west) here to enter Kimball Town Park.

"From the junction of US 51 & County Road J in downtown Mercer, go north on US 51 for 5 1/4 miles to Arrowhead Rd. Turn right (east) & continue down Arrowhead for 7 miles to the fork in the road. Stay on the left fork for about one block to the bridge on Turtle River. The falls are under the bridge & may be better described as a rapids most of the year, but at high water they are more dramatic."

(alternate directions): From Mercer, head northwest on Highway 51 for 1½ miles, then turn right (north) onto Arrowhead Drive. After a ½ mile, take a right on Bear Lake Road. Follow to Rice Lake and the falls. Any clarifications on these conflicting directions would be appreciated.

"The 15-foot falls can be viewed from a former railroad bridge on the 'Ironhorse' ATV and snowmobile trail. It is one of the prettiest spots in Iron County. This is a remote location accessible by ATV or mountain bike.

Spring Camp Falls (20 feet high)

"Fed by the West Branch of the Montreal River, Spring Camp Falls drops 20 feet, its cascade wedged between a stone embankment and a ledge of basalt. Its energy is dampened by the pool it drops into before running downstream, straight into a small rock island formed by boulders cast off by glaciers. A tree, some bushes, and a few clusters of ferns have taken root here."

From Hurley, head south on Highway 51 for 4&frac; miles. Turn right (west) onto County Road C. When C turns north, continue instead straight onto Branch Road. Follow Branch as it turns to the south and becomes East Branch Road. After 3 miles, turn right (west) onto Falls Road.

From Upson, head north on Highway 122 for 5 miles. Turn left (west) onto Sullivan Road. Continue for about 5½ miles. Sullivan Road will become Sullivan Fire Lane. This road will meet with Vogues Road, where you will turn left onto a road that leads to a remote campsite where you can hike to the falls.
